During the visit, the Osa Igiehon had the opportunity to meet the President at Gamba Airport and give him a brief outline of Shell Gabon’s contribution to the region in terms of social investment, in particular progress on the improvements to the Loubomo–Mougagara Road and the Gamba Hospital projects. The President was pleased to hear the news and thanked the Counry chair of Shell Gabon for his update and his support in planning the visit.
The delegation accompanying the President of the Republic, including Désiré Guedon (Minister for Urban Development), the US Ambassador, the Governor of Ogooué Maritime Province, the Prefect of Ndougou district and local authorities from the area, then visited Gamba’s hospital complex. Dr Regine Okome Mabiala Lamoureux, Shell Gabon’s Chief Medical Officer, showed the Head of State what Shell Gabon had done to bring Gamba Hospital up to standard and equip it to meet local communities’ medical needs.
After a constructive visit the Head of State returned to his helicopter at Gamba Stadium, along with his entourage, heading for Omboué, where the campaign would continue.
